Will You Commit It All? ~ Sunday Devotion
Into your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, Lord, my faithful God. Psalm 31:5 (NIV)
The Lord said these words in death. We can say them as we live for Him.
Have you surrendered? Will you commit all to the Lord? What are you holding onto?
I gave my life to the Lord at an early age, but it took me a long time to allow Him to be Lord over all of me. I tried to “handle” my body image issues, insecurities, and obsession with my weight on my own. I believed I needed to micromanage it with diets and by doing all the things I read about because I simply wasn’t sure the Lord was that concerned about this area of my life. Eventually, I got tired of the fight. I craved peace and freedom. I soon realized that no one knew more about me nor cared more about me than my Creator. He is fully capable and trustworthy to handle all my cares and concerns, no matter what they are. He wants to deliver you from yours too.

He is trustworthy. Will you make Him overseer of your life? Your entire life? Give it all to Him. You’re safe in His hands.
Action Step: What area of life is your biggest struggle? Perhaps this is the area that you have yet to fully surrender to Him. The cross was not easy. In fact, it was the most difficult time for our Lord, but He knew God was faithful and He was safe in His hands. When Jesus committed all to Him, He entered God’s rest. You can rest safely in Him too.
