Why Not You? ~ Sunday Devotional
“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14 (NKJV)
I don’t know about you, but I’ve always stumbled over the first part of this verse and focused on the last sentence, a question actually.
Recently I paused and read the entire verse.
God had a plan and it would be executed.
It wasn’t a question of whether or not the Jews would be delivered. The question was whether Esther would participate in God’s plan.
His plan was going to be executed back in Esther’s day, and it will be executed today.
The question is whether you will participate in it.
God invites us to be part of His plan.
He didn’t need Esther, and He doesn’t need you or me. But He invites us into the story.
Instead of looking around and pointing to someone else, or sitting back and letting someone else go, stand up. Raise your hand and let God know you’re ready.
Tell Him you want to get involved.
God created you and placed you on this earth at this time for a reason. Step fully and confidently into your life and your calling.
You have come to this point in your life for such a time as this.
