While We Were Wandering ~ Sunday Devotional
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (NIV)
We are in the middle of the Lenten season when we remember the sacrifice that God made to send His Son Jesus to die for us.
This was His plan from the beginning. Fully knowing that we didn’t deserve it. But yet it was the only way. It is the only way.
He sacrificed His Son because we were wandering; He sacrificed Him while we were wandering. In our desert. In our wilderness of sin.
While we wandered separate from our God, He sent His Son.
Why? He loved us.
He loves you.
He created you and saw that you were good. He was able to see us beyond our sin.
While you and I wandered in our wilderness, He loved us. He made a plan for us to come back to Him. And now it’s available to us.
Whether it’s your first time accepting His love and forgiveness or if you’ve known Him but have spent time wandering, He still loves you.
We are reminded daily through His Word and through His Spirit that His love is readily available to us, at any given moment in the middle of any situation.
Are you wandering? Have you wandered away? God knows. He sees you. He loves you so very much. Receive that today.
In the midst of uncertainty, He is certain. When we are unsure, He is sure. Among the questions, He is the answer.
Happy Sunday!
