Truth that Stands the Test of Time ~ Sunday Devotion
Truthful words stand the test of time, but lies are soon exposed. Proverbs 12:19 (NLT)
Have you noticed that one-by-one, diets are disappearing? So many of the big-name diet companies we grew up with—Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, SlimFast, even Weight Watchers—are either shutting down, rebranding, or fading from view. In fact, Weight Watchers recently announced that they plan to file bankruptcy.
Why?
Because diets don’t work long term. The lies they have fed us over the years are being exposed. They can’t sustain the false messaging. We’re finally waking up to the truth: quick fixes, food rules, and guilt-based programs just aren’t sustainable.
Truth that stands is found in God's Word. Shed His light on your health and fitness and let it expose the lies we've been led to believe. Share on X
Women are tired of the lies. They are tired of the cycle of defeat—start strong, burn out, feel like a failure, repeat. We’re finally brave enough to admit that diets have done a number not only on our physical health but also our mental health.
The good news? We know the truth. We have access to God’s Word that tells us we are fearfully and wonderfully made. His Word guides our choices with verses like we find in 1 Corinthians telling us that all things are permissible but not all are beneficial. He gives us access to His Holy Spirit to help us determine what is beneficial for us, for the way that God uniquely created us. When we live by the Spirit we have the fruit of self-control to help us implement healthy habits.
The truth is there’s a better way than the lies we’ve heard over the years. And the better way is the one that’s stood the test of time.
- It’s found in simple, doable habits.
- It’s grounded in grace and faith, not shame.
- It’s supported by a community of women who get it—and walk alongside you.
Action Step: The truth that we know is not new. It’s not trendy. It’s stood the test of time. Honor the body God entrusted to you by eating healthy foods, moving regularly, and spending time with Him.
Happy Sunday!
