Third Quarter 2025 Recap ~ A Glimpse into My Planner

We’ve come to the end of the third quarter of 2025. I’ve been doing quarterly recaps for several years by giving you a glimpse into my planner. That’s the place where I keep track of everything. This is my first year designing my own daily planner with the help of Plum Paper. This planner has a To Do List, Schedule, and Notes area. I also have space for daily gratitude, meals, and my workout.

So, let’s get on with a recap of July, August, and September.

The Highlights

Drink More (water!) Challenge happened in July. Water is one of the four pillars of my Faith and Fitness Framework. Many women underestimate the importance of drinking water. We spent a week improving this healthy habit.

Fit and Free Devotions – I shared these devotions that I wrote in my monthly coaching group. Our July focus was all about living fit and free. Each day, we read a devotion related to this with a “letting go of” suggestion. One of my plans for 2026 is to write my next devotional all about living fit and free. This was a preview of that book.

Eat More (slowly!) Challenge happened in August. Slowing down is the first step to becoming more mindful with your nutrition. We practiced this together with my free challenge.

I was a guest speaker for a local group of women and spoke about embracing their age and stage of life.

We’re moving! We closed on a new (to us!) house at the end of July, and we’ve been having some work done there before we move in. Movers are scheduled to come in October.

I turned 53 in September and also celebrated the anniversary of 50 Days to 50.

Football season has started!

Found on my gratitude list

  • Good sleep
  • Massage
  • Air conditioning
  • Good yearly check-up with my doctor
  • Trip to the orchard with Ethan
  • Evening walks
  • House on the lake
  • Ben’s 35th birthday
  • Family
  • Rainbow
  • Waking up to a prayer from my friend
  • Church family
  • Blue hair
  • Fall weather
  • Football season
  • Pedicure
  • Fun fingernails
  • New shoes

Meals

Most recently, I’ve only been using this section for evening meal plans. This helps with my grocery list and making sure that I get protein out of my freezer and into the refrigerator to thaw by the time we need it. Sometimes I use it as a food journal, but I haven’t felt the need to do that recently.

Workouts

Yoga every day. I do 10-30 minutes each day. It’s such a part of my routine that I don’t mention it often, but the benefits for my spirit, mind, and body are huge. If you haven’t tried yoga, I strongly encourage you to.

Weights 3-4 times a week. I also go for a short walk wearing my weighted vest a couple of times a week. Sometimes, I wear it while I lift weights to add a little more intensity.

I ran two 5Ks. One in Brookville in July on a very hot day. The other was the Colts 5K (my favorite race of the year!) in September. It was a beautiful day, and I had a really good race.

Running and biking have been my cardio. I run every day and have been getting out for short rides. My overall cycling mileage is much lower than it has been in summers past, but I’m not focusing on that as much as simply getting out to add some diversity to my exercise routine.

Faith

Fit and Free devotions – In July, I shared a preview of my next book with my Faith and Fitness Support and Accountability Community.

Secure in Christ – Love God Greatly Bible study

Fruit of the Spirit – This was our August Bible study focus in my support and accountability community.

My Utmost for His Highest  – 30 day Bible plan in my support and accountability community. Building our foundation and focusing on anchor actions was the focus of our faith and fitness.

Note: As you can see with the studies and faith focuses listed above, building our fitness on a foundation of faith is key in my Faith and Fitness Support and Accountability Community. Every month, we have a faith focus and a fitness focus. They often overlap. Most months, we do Bible plans together found in the YouVersion App. If you’re interested in joining, go here or reach out to me.

What’s next?

Our move. We plan to be in our new home for the holidays and for our 25th wedding anniversary (December 16), so that will be a top focus for my time in the coming weeks.

Finish up my continuing education units to maintain my mental health counselor license.

Planksgiving Challenge in November.

Love God Greatly study – From Beginning to Forever.

An October focus of Fear Not and Go For It in my Faith and Fitness Support and Accountability Community. November, we’ll focus on life principles to live by, and December will be an advent study.

A holiday 5K.

Cheers to the final quarter of 2025!
