No Matter Your Age or Stage of Life ~ Sunday Devotion
Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the Lord said to him: “You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed. Joshua 13:1 (NKJV)
You might feel old, you might even be old ;), but if you’re still inhabiting a body here on earth, the Lord has plans for you.
The Lord was clear with Joshua in this passage. He didn’t hold back. He told poor Joshua that he was old, BUT it wasn’t time for him to curl up and wait to die. There were still things for him to do.
No matter your age or stage of life, God has plans for you. Are you available to Him? Are you asking what your next assignment is? Or are you distracted by other things? Distracted by the things that come with our aging bodies? Are you too worried about slowing down, gaining weight, sagging skin, wrinkles? Are you spending all of your time trying to delay the aging process?
Your life’s purpose isn’t, and never has been, to manipulate your body to look a certain way or be a particular size. God has more important things planned for you. If you’ve been distracted along the way, it’s time to change your focus.
My Faith and Fitness Membership Community is full of women 30, 40, 50, 60, 70+ years old who are saying “No matter my age or stage of life, I want to live the life God designed for me. I want to show up with the strength, energy, and confidence to honor Him right now.” They know He has plans for them, and they’re willing to throw off distractions so they can show up for those plans.

I’m not sure your age or stage of life, but I am sure that God has placed you where you are for a reason. Are you fulfilling that purpose? Do you need to shift your perspective and embrace who you are right now and the assignment God has for you?
All it takes is for you to put your eyes on Jesus and say, “Here I am, Lord.”
This year I’ve chosen to embrace the new decade I’m fast-approaching. I’m looking at 50, at this next stage of life, with expectation and praying that God will help me let go of anything that might try to distract me from the land I have yet to possess. You’ve got some land too. Go get it!
Action Step: Make a list of things you can celebrate about this stage of life. If you’re struggling, ask the Lord to give you a glimpse of what He still has planned for you.
Happy Sunday!
