second quarter 2026 recap

Second Quarter 2026 Recap ~ A Glimpse Into My Planner

We’ve come to the end of the second quarter of 2026. We’re halfway through. How can that be? I’ve been doing quarterly recaps for several years by giving you a glimpse into my planner. That’s the place where I keep track of everything. This is my second year designing my own daily planner with the help of Plum Paper. This planner has a To Do List, Schedule, and Notes area. I also have space for daily gratitude, meals, and my workout.

So, let’s get on with a recap of April, May, and June.

The Highlights

Fit and Free Devotional. The editor has it for final proofing. I’m getting closer to publishing it.

We sold our house! We are now fully settled into our new home and no longer have to check on a second house.

Family getaway has been scheduled. In the fall, we’re going to St. Louis for a couple of days. We’re already looking forward to it.

I introduced my F.I.T.T. Framework through an email series in April.

I worked with a messaging coach in May. It was something I had on my vision board for 2026. I’m so glad I did this. I received some helpful feedback.

June was for drinking more water. I did this series in my free Facebook group.

I broke my leg…sort of. During a run in mid-May, I felt something go horribly wrong in my knee. I haven’t been running since then. Read more about that below under workouts.

Found on my gratitude list

  • Watching the rocket launch on tv
  • Visit with my mom
  • Latte
  • Air conditioning
  • Sold the house
  • Chat with a friend
  • Sitting on the back deck
  • Earlier sunrise
  • Appointment with women’s health specialist
  • Fresh fingernails
  • Sunshine
  • Clean and organized house
  • Beautiful full moon in the morning sky
  • Bike ride
  • My guys
  • Nap
  • New washer, dryer, and dishwasher
  • Massage

Meals

I’ve been using this section to plan evening meals for the week. This helps me know what meat to get out of the freezer and into the refrigerator to be ready for evening mealtimes. As far as breakfast and lunch go, I keep those simple and similar from day to day so I don’t really need to write them down or think about them too much.

Workouts

Yoga every day. I do 10-30 minutes each day. It’s such a part of my routine that I don’t mention it often, but the benefits for my spirit, mind, and body are huge. If you haven’t tried yoga, I strongly encourage you to do so.

Cardio. Cycling is my main form of cardio right now. Mid-May I tore my meniscus and suffered a stress fracture at the top of my shin bone. It was very painful the first few days. Running came to an abrupt halt on the day of my injury. Since then, I’ve made my own comeback plan with some physical therapy exercises and a schedule to slowly return to running.

Strength train. I started following one of my old Jillfit workouts, The Built Blueprint. It was a 12-week plan, and I finished it up at the end of the quarter. I’ll continue to do what I can while I rehab my knee.

What’s next?

Nutrition education in July and how it fits into my Faith and Fitness Framework. My free Facebook group and free email list is where you need to be to get all of that.

Finalize my new devotional and get it published. Stay tuned!

Get back to running. My goal race is the Colts 5K in September. Pray for me!

I’ll turn 54 in September.

Cheers to Quarter Three of 2026!
