second quarter 2022

Time for Review ~ Second Quarter 2022

We’ve come to the end of the second quarter of 2022. I’ve been doing these recaps for a few years now by giving you a glimpse into my Kitlife Planner. That’s the place where I keep track of everything. In fact, it even has a quarterly check-in spot.

The main parts of my Kitlife Daily are…

  • The Big 3 – This helps me prioritize. What three things must I get done today?
  • Self-Care – This is a daily practice. Self-care is so much more than a spa day. It’s little things done daily that fill my cup.
  • Gratitude – I write down three things each day that I’m grateful for. Some days they are big things but many days they’re the simple things.
  • Activity – Place to track regular exercise.
  • Meal Plan – Sometimes this serves as an area for me to note what I eat throughout the day, other times it’s what I plan for dinner.

There’s also plenty of space for notes or journaling. I often jot down my social media posting schedule here as well as notes from my Bible study or a quote I want to remember.

I’ve been using a Kitlife Planner since 2018. It’s the best planner ever! In fact, I now have a discount code to share with you. Simply put “Marsha” in the coupon code location and get $5 off your purchase of any planner.

So how did April, May, and June go?

The Highlights

#Moderation365 Coaching Group – Several women participated in this group with the goal to work on their relationship with food and learn to take a moderate approach that allows her to eat the same Saturday as she does on Monday. No more restricting and binging.

Mile a Day Challenge – I love this yearly challenge. So many women logged at least one mile each day and became consistent with daily movement and a dose of fresh air.

Ethan’s home for summer – My baby turned 19 and is home from Indiana University for summer break. He’s working at the golf course and playing a lot of golf. This mom’s heart is full and happy that he’s home.

Yearly physical – Although this part of self-care isn’t on everyone’s happy list, it is essential. I had a good check-in with my doctor. I hope that you see your doctor regularly. If you haven’t visited in a while, please take this as a prompt to schedule an appointment.

Some self-care I practiced

  • Easy workout days
  • Naps
  • Lattes
  • Massage
  • Cleaning out and organizing
  • Skipped a meeting
  • Walk around the block
  • Pedicure

Found on my gratitude list

  • Coffee with a friend
  • My health
  • Air Conditioning
  • Sunshine
  • Texts with my sons
  • Grocery pick up
  • Sound of rain
  • Venison brats
  • Time with my husband

Still I Run streak – For the month of May, I ran every day along with others who were running daily to raise awareness for Mental Health.

Mile a Day – I continued my daily running Memorial Day to July 4 to participate in this challenge that I was hosting.

#Physique40 – In June, I started this new program that Jill Coleman created. I enjoy adding strength training to my regular cardio.

Yoga – I practice 10-30 minutes daily.

How I used meal plan section

I used this space to make notes about what I’m eating and how my body responds to it. Just gathering information. I attended a nutrition workshop in April and did a food sensitivity test in June. Dairy, wheat, and gluten are a few of the things I’m looking at a little more closely to see how they are impacting my body.

What’s next?

Christmas in July – Pick up Turn Your Holidays into Holy-Days and have some fun in July. While the book is for the month of December, many of the healthy living tips apply anytime of year.

5 Days of Giving – Last year, I did this pop-up challenge in my Facebook Group for the first time. It was so well-received that I’ve been asked to bring it back. Join in as we spend 5 days looking for ways to be a blessing to others.

50 Days To 50 – I’m turning 50, and I want to bring you along on my journey. Get a sneak peak of my new devotional and take daily action to benefit your faith and fitness no matter your age and stage of life. #50DT50 will be happening August 2 – September 20, 2022.

Cheers to the 3rd quarter of 2022!
