Who Is On Your Side? ~ Sunday Devotion

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? Psalm 118:6 (NKJV)

I don’t know about you, but I’ve spent a lot of time feeling alone and worrying about what others think of me. I worried about being judged by them, for my appearance or my actions. I’m not quite sure what I was really afraid of, but still I worried. Yet, what others think of me isn’t something I should fear. And it’s not something for you to fear either. The important thing is for you and I to have the Lord on our sides.

Who is on your side?

Do you feel alone? He wants to come alongside you and never leave you.

Do you worry about how others view you? God says you are good

Is something bothering you? The Lord wants to comfort and counsel you through His Word and the Holy Spirit.

Are you afraid? The Lord is ready to protect you.

You are not alone. There is nothing to be afraid of. The Lord is on your side. #FaithOverFear #YouAreNotAlone Click To Tweet

Do you remember in grade school when the gym teacher appointed two captains and each got to pick their teams? (I remember because I was never a captain and always one of the last ones to be picked!) There was always that person that everyone wanted on their team because he or she was the best at whatever game we were about to play.

This verse makes me think of picking teams. The Lord is who you want on your side. He’s the best at loving you, protecting you, providing for you, and being everything that you need.

Just like you and I waiting to be picked, the Lord is waiting for you to invite Him to your side.

Action Step: Who is on your side? The Lord is waiting for you to pick Him. Then be sure to add other “members” to your team who will support you along the way. Ask the Lord to help you find that community. You don’t have to travel this journey alone.

Happy Sunday!
