open to new possibilities

It’s Time to be Open to New Possibilities

Perspective.  It’s everything.

At the time of this writing, we’re at the beginning of a new year. And not just any new year, a year after a pandemic.  Well, we’re still in a pandemic but there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel.  Nevertheless…

Instead of feeling open to new possibilities, we often feel pressure at the beginning of a new year.

The pressure to make up for what we didn’t accomplish the previous year begins to mount.

Pressure to say yes to every opportunity that comes your way.

Pressure to make goals and resolutions then plaster them all over your social media so everyone knows you’re not going to slack.

Pressure to go on a diet, sign up for a race, do whatever your friend or even the stranger on the internet is doing.

Nothing good will come from caving under the pressure.

Take a deep breath.

Today is full of possibilities. Be open to new possibilities that are sure to come your way.

But then each and every day that you and I wake up is full of possibilities, full of opportunities.

It’s really not about your year.

It’s about the fact that it’s all yours. Every year, every week, every day, and every moment.

You and I can choose how we spend the day.

Every day is your day. Be open to new possibilities right now. #starttoday Click To Tweet

You get to choose how you approach today and each and every day of 2021 (or whatever year you may be reading this).

If you want to sign up for a race, sign up for one for you because you are open to new possibilities that will come with it…improved health, motivation, fun, etc.

If you want to set a goal, set your own goal, not your friend’s goal.  Set a goal that will inspire you and lead to positive experiences.

Here’s the deal: You can step up, take control, and shift the course of your life literally at any moment you choose, whether January 1, April 22, or October 19.

So, if you never want to look back with regret on the actions you should have taken or how far along you’d be if you just acted sooner, change now.

Literally now.

Take a new action.

Re-commit and start at this very moment.

Because no day of the week or year is the day you should be waiting for.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed today, take a deep breath, shift your perspective.  Instead of feeling the weight of pressure, be open to new possibilities.

No matter when you are reading this, today is your day!
