Marvelous Things ~ Sunday Devotion
“Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! For He has done marvelous things,” Psalm 98:1a (NKJV)
We serve a great God!
I know you might feel like the times are anything but great right now, but will you take a moment to reflect on the goodness of God? Can you reflect on something He’s done in the last hour or something He did for you years ago?
Nothing that God does for us is minor.
Although I can reflect on my life and note some major events when God intervened on my behalf, I’m no less humbled by the countless small things. It’s because of those small things that I realize just how much He loves me and sees me. From Him setting me free from obsession with my weight to giving me a second chance at a happily-ever-after to prompting my memory to add baking soda to my grocery list (for real!), He’s done marvelous things for me.
I’m guessing He has done some marvelous things for you, too!
Even though your times may feel anything but marvelous right now, God is good. He has done great things and He'll do them for you. Share on X
Will you take some time today to consider how God has worked in your life—over the years and over the last few days? It might be easy to recognize the major events, but what about the minor ones? Some of the seemingly insignificant things that we often overlook are good things from above, too.
He sees you, and He knows you. He knows exactly what you need and will be faithful to provide it.
Action Step: Share something marvelous He’s done for you. Your story may encourage someone else and help them notice a marvelous thing He’s done for them that they would have otherwise overlooked.
