He Will Make You Strong ~ Sunday Devotion

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 1 Peter 5:10 (NIV)

No matter what we go through in this life, God has a home waiting for us where we’ll be restored and made complete. This is the hope of our salvation.

I also believe that here and now He wants to restore us and make us strong. There is purpose in our struggles. He will never leave us there. It’s in our sufferings where He calls us to Himself.

My weight loss struggles and body image issues that began at a very young age were those things that brought me to my knees before the Lord. He bottled every tear that I cried (see Psalm 56:8) and never left me. He saw my sufferings and loved me through them. It was during that time that He called me, called me to Himself and called me to a bigger purpose.

Have you been suffering? Struggling through something? Fall on your knees before our great God. That is where He will make you strong. This thing you’ve been experiencing has purpose in your life and can influence others when you let Him restore you. You are growing while you’re going through this. He’s paving the way to your eternal home, but He also has plans for you here and now. Let Him restore you and make you strong so you can stand firm and do what He’s calling you to do.
