Where Are You Looking For Help? ~ Sunday Devotional
When you need to figure out how something works, don’t you consult the owner’s manual?
I’ve had my car for over a year and there are still buttons that I’m not sure what they’re used for.
More than once, I’ve asked my husband to get out the manual to learn about another part of my car.
How about a recipe you’re trying to recreate?
My Granny O made the best fudge. I could have easily followed her recipe, but to stand beside her and make it taught me so much more. Not only did it increase our bond but I also learned the art of fudge making like I couldn’t have simply making it by myself.
So when you are trying to figure out how to properly care for and treat your body, why do you go to the latest diet promoted by someone who’s not had any professional training nor has any personal knowledge of you?
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains — where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV)
Your faith and your fitness are not two separate things.
The only way to sustainable results is by integrating these two areas of your life.
God created you. His Word speaks to how to care for your body.
So much of the way we care for our bodies is grounded in what we believe about it. Do you believe what He says about you?
God wrote the manual about you, His creation. He says you are “fearfully and wonderfully made.”
When you approach your health and wellness alongside your Creator, you become closer to Him, just as I did my grandmother. You learn the art of caring for your unique body.
When you need help with something, don’t you want the best help?
The Lord is that help. His Word is where to begin.
Stop looking around and settling for anything less than the best guidance. The Lord is your guide.
Happy Sunday!
