Inside Out Fitness ~ Sunday Devotional
“So stop evaluating Christians by what the world thinks about them or by what they seem to be like on the outside. Once I mistakenly thought of Christ that way, merely as a human being like myself. How differently I feel now!” 2 Corinthians 5:16 (TLB)
Before Paul’s conversion, he didn’t recognize Christ as Savior. He couldn’t see Him as anyone other than a man like himself.
But then, Paul had an experience and recognized Christ for who He really was: Savior of the world as well as his personal Savior.
Paul’s outward appearance didn’t change but his heart did. And this change led to Paul living his life differently.
Too often we evaluate others based on outward appearance.
In addition to that, we tend to focus on our own outward appearance more than the spirit within.
This verse warns us not to evaluate others based on the world’s standards.
There’s more to a person than their outward appearance.
There’s more to you than your outward appearance.
Once we address what’s happening inside our lives, the outside will follow.
Verse 17 in this chapter says, “When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside.”
Dealing with the inside is our first priority.
Naturally the results will be seen on the outside…by the words we say and the things we do.
Paul’s life drastically changed when he recognized Christ for who He truly was.
Is there someone you’ve been judging based on how they look?
Are you working on yourself from the inside out?
Today might be the day to look a little deeper.
I have a few things to think about today. You too?
Happy Sunday!
