How Does the Lord Feel? ~ Sunday Devotion

For forty years I was grieved with that generation, and said, “It is a people who go astray in their hearts, and they do not know My ways.” Psalm 95:10 (NKJV)

How does the Lord feel about how you’re living?

Jesus loves me, this I know.* He loves you too. Last week, we celebrated Easter. He made the ultimate sacrifice for you and me so that we could receive forgiveness for our sins and have a relationship with Him. Even though He loves us with a sacrificial love, He still hurts when we go astray and disobey.

When I came across this verse, I thought of my own life. I thought of how I, like the Israelites, wandered away from Him. We can easily fall into the trap of disobedience and waywardness, especially when we think we know a better way to do things. I’m thinking of those years when I made weight loss an idol in my life and closed off my heart to what God’s Word said about me. This disobedience caused Him grief. Yes, He loved me. In fact, I had received His love and was a Christian, but He hurt because I was turning my back on Him in this area of my life.

I didn’t know God’s way of doing fitness. I didn’t realize that He wanted to be part of every area of my life. Nothing is too small or too big for our God. If it’s happening in your life, He wants to be part of it. If it concerns you, it concerns Him. We’re either fully and completely following the Lord, or we’re not.

How does the Lord feel about how you’re living? Are you fully living for Him? Believing and receiving His love for you? Or, are you going your own way in one or more areas of your life? Ignoring His ways and His love? It’s time to stop wandering and follow Jesus.

Action Step: Examine your heart. Learn God’s will by spending time in His Word. Trust that He will guide you. Apply His truth to each and every area of your life.

Happy Sunday!

*Now you’re going to have the song in your head the rest of the day. I might’ve planned that 😉
