Give Thanks Every Day ~ Sunday Devotion
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night, Psalm 92:1-2 (NKJV)
We have much to be grateful for. God has done so many wonderful things for us. Today being Easter exemplifies the ultimate gift we’ve ever received – Christ’s life for ours. This in and of itself is reason to give thanks every day.
Our verse tells us it is good to give thanks. Practicing gratitude has a positive impact on our lives. Taking a moment each morning to consider something to be grateful for will give you a boost for your day. It’ll fix your perspective toward optimism. You’ll likely start to notice reasons to praise the Lord. Pausing before bed to reflect on your day to identify something to be grateful for will help you rest better. A practice that I have implemented to help me fall asleep is to go through the alphabet and think of something for which I’m grateful that begins with each letter. I don’t often make it to Z before my mind has found peace and I fall asleep.
Simply give thanks every day by pausing to identify something good. The Lord delights in your praises, and it’ll make you feel better too! #GratitudePractice Click To Tweet
Daily gratitude doesn’t need to be difficult. Although I enjoy writing down three things in the gratitude section of my Kitlife Planner each day, you don’t have to do that. Simply give thanks every day by pausing to identify something good. The Lord delights in your praises, and it’ll make you feel better too!
Action Step: If you don’t have a daily gratitude practice, begin one today. It doesn’t have to be elaborate. You don’t even need to write anything down. Simply pause and give thanks to the Lord.
Happy Sunday!
