fourth quarter 2021

Fourth Quarter 2021 Recap

We’ve come to the end of the fourth quarter of 2021 which means the end of another year. The best way to do that is to give you a glimpse into my Kitlife Planner. That’s the place where I keep track of everything. In fact, it even has a quarterly check-in spot.

The main parts of my Kitlife Daily are…

  • The Big 3 – This helps me prioritize. What three things must I get done today?kitlife planner
  • Self-Care – This is a daily practice. Self-care is so much more than a spa day. It’s little things done daily that fill my cup.
  • Gratitude – I write down three things each day that I’m grateful for. Some days they are big things but many days they’re the simple things.
  • Activity – Place to track regular exercise.
  • Meal Plan – Sometimes this serves as an area for me to note what I eat throughout the day, other times it’s what I plan for dinner.

There’s also plenty of space for notes or journaling. I often jot down my social media posting schedule here as well as notes from my Bible study or a quote I want to remember.

I’ve been using a Kitlife Planner since 2018.  It’s the best planner ever! In fact, I now have a discount code to share with you. Simply put “Marsha” in the coupon code location and get $5 off your purchase. (This is in addition to any sale price they might be offering!)

So how did October, November, and December 2021 go?

Activity

I saw a doctor about some pain in my feet. I learned that I have arthritis in one foot that I just need to manage. The other foot had some tendonitis happening that required me to stop running for a short time to let it heal up. A bonus (I guess you might say?!) piece of information we learned from the x-ray is that I have a dislocated toe. I probably noticed some discomfort when this happened months ago, but it no longer bothers me. The only fix is surgery, so the doctor and I agreed that the best action is no action as long as it’s not bothering me. While I had to take a bit of a break for my feet to heal up, I continued regular running, walking, yoga, and weight lifting.

Christmas lights walk with the running group is something we’ve done the last few years. Well, most years it’s been a run, but we decided to keep it lowkey and enjoy a leisurely walk through the neighborhood. I love Christmas lights and there’s nothing better than to enjoy them while on foot with friends.

I finished the year having done yoga nearly every day, weights 3-5 times a week, short walks daily, plus 907 running miles, 971 biking miles, and found $28.48.

How I used meal plan section

I didn’t use this section much during the last quarter of the year. When I felt I needed to develop a little more awareness of what/when I was eating, I jotted down a few notes. But my eating is quite streamlined because I follow a #Moderation365 approach that has me eating the same on Monday as I do on Saturday.

Faith

I’m teaching second grade religious education at church.

Wrapped up Love God Greatly Faith Over Perfection study.

Advent study – The Greatest Gift Given, a Love God Greatly Bible study.

I spent a lot of time working on my word and verse for 2022. Very quickly freedom came to me, but I knew there was more to it; however, I had to keep digging into God’s Word and praying for guidance.

What’s next?

Word/verse for 2022 – Celebrate Freedom – I’m going to do a full blog post on my word, verse, and focus for 2022.

Focus for the year – I’m focusing on stepping fully into who God created me to be, celebrating the 50 years He’s blessed me with, and staying in freedom that I found 10 years ago.

Key message – A daily dose of Jesus, fresh air, and movement will do amazing things for your spirit, mind, and body.

Weigh Your Words Challenge – This challenge will return at the end of February. Stay tuned!

50 Days to 50 – I’m working on a new challenge that will come a little later this year so you can join me on my journey to turning 50.

Happy New Year and Cheers to 2022!
