Draw Near to God ~ Sunday Devotion
“But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all Your works.” Psalm 73:28 (NKJV)
Just as the psalmist acknowledged that drawing near to God was good for him so it is for us.
Sometimes it feels as if God is far away. Maybe you feel forgotten or overlooked. Perhaps you feel as if God has slammed the door between you and Heaven, and your prayers aren’t being heard. Where has He gone?
Let’s read those words again… “But it is good for me to draw near to God”
God didn’t go anywhere. He’s still on the throne. You and I are the ones who drift away. We put the space between us and God.
Distractions are everywhere. Trivial things push to the front of our minds. So many things vie for our attention.
God hasn't gone anywhere. It's you and me who need to come a little closer. He's ready to welcome us into His presence. Share on XYou may have put your trust in the Lord, but have you drifted lately?
Have you allowed something to distract you?
He hasn’t moved. He never changes. His love for you is steadfast.
Action Step: Draw near to God today. Spend time with Him…in His Word, in prayer, in His presence. It is good for us to be close to Him. When we’re in His presence, He can do amazing things in us and through us.
Happy Sunday!
