Do Not Give Up ~ Sunday Devotion
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
Everyone wants a quick fix, but the results only come if you do not give up.
I’m no gardener, but my husband puts out a few tomato plants every summer. We don’t have tomatoes the next day. It takes time. He has to water them regularly. Eventually, we have an abundance of tomatoes but only after he’s consistently cared for them and given them time to grow.
Results. Rewards. Benefits. They’re not always immediate. Change takes time. The results aren’t always visible right away. But they will happen if you stay the course, if you do not give up.
Keep showing up. Get your daily dose of fresh air. Go for a walk. Drink an extra glass of water. Those things are making a difference. The way to develop a sustainable healthy lifestyle is to be consistent. The only way to establish consistency is by taking small steps. Quick fixes might get you a quick result, but those kinds of results never last.
God sees you. He sees your effort. He’s ready to bless you. Do not give up.
Action Step: Commit to the long game. Do something positive for your health today such as take a walk, drink an extra glass of water, or add a serving of produce. Small things done consistently add up and have lasting impact.
