Defining Progress ~ Sunday Devotional
What are you diligent about?
What are you persistent in doing?
What gets your attention?
Are they things that matter? Things that have lasting impact? Things like love and faith? Diligent about your actions and your speech?
1 Timothy 4:15 (NIV) says: “Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.”
This verse doesn’t tell us to be diligent in our weight loss so people can see our progress and praise our looks and hard work.
We’re to be diligent in the things that matter for eternity and will positively impact the lives of others.
When women implement my faith and fitness framework, they are freed up to be diligent in the things that truly matter.
No longer is she diligent (and distracted!) by following a diet but she’s diligent in implementing her faith because she’s found freedom on her healthy living journey.
Of course she’s implementing healthy habits. But she does this in a way that frees her to live the life God desires her to live.
Progress then is defined by peace of mind.
It’s measured by a positive outlook.
You can see progress because she shows up for others and is present with the people in her life.
Progress becomes evident when she is confidently loving and serving those around her.
Be diligent in these matters so that God may be glorified.
Happy Sunday!
