“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everyt “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”  I Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV) I've been praying for my boys since I became a wife and stepmom and since I had my own child 18 years ago today.  You'd better believe I'll keep on praying as Ethan enters this next phase of his life.   When this boy was little, he took this verse to heart.   I write on Day 37 of "40 Days of Faith and Fitness:” Pray without ceasing. When Ethan was small, he would stop everything and pray.  I once saw him on the soccer field as a little guy close his eyes and pray.    He went through a spell when he'd do this on the soccer field, during playtime,  and in his first grade classroom.   He'd literally stop and close his eyes for several seconds.    After noticing this ongoing pattern, I asked him what he was doing.  He just said, "I'm praying."   Melt my heart. 💙 But I had to explain to him that he could pray without stopping and closing his eyes.  Certainly there were times for that, but on the soccer field or during Mr. Lockman's teaching, might not be the time for closing his eyes.    Today I'm praying for this boy and giving thanks for the privilege of being his mom.  I sure would appreciate it if you'd say a prayer for him (and me!) today too!💙💙 #boymom #praywithoutceasing #givingthanks #birthday18 #adulting
"Small changes DO make a big difference!" "I us "Small changes DO make a big difference!" "I used to have an "all or nothing" mindset." These are a couple of the comments I've received from the women in the Faith and Fitness Membership Community. Let's face it. Sometimes it's hard to make the small change and be okay with it. We want to do all the things and see results NOW! It's easy to either go all in or just not go in at all. The reason that these women have been able to embrace this way of thinking, stick with it, and get results is because they're not doing this alone. They get daily support and accountability in the membership community from me and from each other. Earlier this week I talked about training for a marathon and how you had to be in it for the long haul.  But doing that on your own isn't easy.  My best results came when I trained with other people and when I surrounded myself with like-minded people who would support and encourage me.   It's the same with your healthy life.    If you want to make changes, don't do it alone.  You'll stay committed and get better results when you have a good support system.   If you're curious how the membership community can support you, message me.  Let's decide if this is the time and the right fit for you.   #supportandaccountability #support #notalone #community

Results don't happen overnight. You Results don't happen overnight.

You don't wake up one day and think, "I want to run a marathon" and then go run that marathon the same day.

It takes time and work to get ready to toe the line for a 26.2 mile event.

Sure, you might be able to cover 26.2 miles on the same day you decide you want to, but you will likely hurt yourself or be in bed for a few days after recovering.

It takes time and consistency to reach your health goals.

You can do the latest detox to lose a few pounds quickly, but those same pounds (and likely more!) will come right back as soon as you take a drink.

Are you committed?

Are you in it for the long game?

Whether you want to run a marathon or simply improve your health, you have to be committed.

I've trained for and completed over a dozen marathons. On day one of training, it's easy to become a little overwhelmed. But I know from experience that sticking with the plan and adding a little bit every day is what got me the results that I wanted.

I didn't get ready to run 26.2 miles overnight. But over time, I gained confidence and the fitness that it took to run a successful marathon.

It's the same with improving your health.

You can't change it overnight, but you can implement a new habit consistently over time. You'll gain confidence to continue to improve your lifestyle until one day you realize you're living a healthy life that is now sustainable.

If you want the quick fixes, this isn't the place for you.

If you're ready to get sustainable lasting results, then this is the place for you. Integrating your faith and your fitness will get you the healthy life you're looking for.

{Dealing with all the emotions} You know the fe {Dealing with all the emotions} You know the feeling, or even multiple feelings, you get when you’re on a roller coaster inching up toward that first big hill?   There’s fear of the unknown.   Anxiety about how I’ll respond - laugh, cry, wet my pants?! Excitement because I know it’ll be fun. (Surely it’ll be fun?!)    Part of me wants to yell “Stop!  Get me off this thing!”  While another part wants to get to the top and feel the exhilaration of letting go.    Today I’m on my own roller coaster inching up a big hill!    Friday my baby turns 18, and I’m feeling all the emotions.    Once we head down that big hill there’s graduation and college coming just around the bend. I’m about to go on one of the craziest roller coaster rides of my life.    I’ll admit I have some fear because I’ve not been here before.   I’m a bit anxious about how I’ll respond to this season. I’m definitely excited about experiencing this new season with him.    But still, so many feelings.   I imagine you’ve had times in your life when you’ve had multiple emotions taking up space in your life.  You might even be going through one of those seasons right now.   Feel the feelings.   Acknowledge the emotions.   Respond.  Allow yourself to laugh, to cry, to be quiet, to talk, to seek counsel.    There’s no right or wrong way to deal with emotions.  And there’s no right or wrong emotion to have.  We all respond to events differently.  But please don’t deny your emotions.  Give them space to exist.  Explore them. Ride the ride.    To all the moms who are riding the roller coaster, take a deep breath...I know it’s going to be okay.  I just have to believe it.

To the moms who are on the other end, getting your wobbly legs underneath you to disembark the ride, please remind us it is in fact going to be okay 😉💙 Happy Monday!   #mentalhealthmonday #momofhighschoolsenior #momofboys #momlife
{Sunday Devotional - Mindset}  “Let {Sunday Devotional - Mindset}

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,” Philippians 2:5 (NKJV)

We can’t escape our thoughts.

I don’t know about yours, but my mind can be an unwelcome place. Thoughts and ideas tend to pop in unannounced and then stay there. Other times, I can get focused on a negative event or negative words and not let go.

Destructive thoughts can take over quickly.

During those times, I know that’s not the mind of Christ.

But how can I have the mind of Christ?

If you’ve found yourself with the same battle in your mind, know that you are not alone. There is hope. There is a way to “let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.”

It starts by filling your mind with His Word.

Daily Bible reading, scripture memorization, and prayer are all actions that will make your mind a more welcoming place to be.

The Bible is filled with His thoughts on you as well as on how to live your life.

It’s easy to get distracted by setting our minds on the here and now.

Our thoughts focus on that which is right in front of us or has us troubled. Those things gain our full attention. Doing so only keeps us in a cycle of defeat and constant battle in our minds.

A war is waging in your mind but Christ in you can win that war.

Does your mind focus on the negative thoughts and feelings towards your body?

Do you worry about weight and plan everything around how to lose that weight?

If you're struggling to implement healthy habits that you can stick with, head to God's Word. He has so much to say about you.

Until you start looking at yourself through the lens of His Word, you won't stick with a plan that is sustainable.

Anything you want to change in your life on the outside will only change when you start by addressing what’s going on inside in your mind.

Let this mind be in you that is in Christ Jesus then you’re circumstance will begin to change too.

Happy Sunday!

IU deadlines are coming as well as orientation.   Graduation happens in June followed by all the celebrations.   I need my @kitlifeplanners to keep track of it all.    If you missed out on getting a planner earlier this year, don't worry!  Academic planners will be launching soon.  These are perfect for teachers and college-bound students.    Reminder:  Use code Marsha to get $5 off any time you order from kitlife.net.    #planner #momlife #schedule #busyschedule #keepingittogether
Thursdays are for writing and planning.   This Thursdays are for writing and planning.    This is the day I write my Sunday Devotional and schedule out other posts for next week.    My Faith and Fitness Framework is made up of 4 pillars but the most important one is Faith.  Without a firm foundation of faith, the rest of them are meaningless.   Of course you'll benefit from drinking plenty of water, eating healthy foods, and getting regular movement but until you integrate your faith into those things, you'll not get sustainable lasting results.   If you're struggling to implement healthy habits that you can stick with, head to God's Word.  He has so much to say about you.  Until you start believing those things and looking at yourself as His special creation, you won't stick with a plan that is sustainable.    This takes a mindset shift and that's what Sunday's verse is about.  Stay tuned!    #bts #behindthescenes #mindsetshift #mindset #faithandfitness
