Blessed Children ~ Sunday Devotional
The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him. Proverbs 20:7 (NKJV)
This last year really had me thinking about how my life has impacted my child’s. It also had me reflecting on the kind of stepmother I’ve been. I don’t have to tell you that it was easier to think of all the mistakes I’ve made and wondered how many times I messed up and didn’t even realize it.
When my now 19-year-old niece was born, I remember my brother telling me it was the first time he really thought about his own mortality. It hit him with great clarity that he had a child to raise so he needed to be there to do that. You start rethinking everything!
Children sure do change you and challenge everything you thought about life.
All parents want what’s best for their children. They want to do right by them, and they want them to have a good life. How do we ensure that?
Focus on our own lives first.
Am I walking in integrity?
Am I living an authentic life?
Am I following Jesus?
No matter your child’s age, you’ll always have an influence on their lives.
Keep your focus on Jesus and living the life He’s calling you to.
Walk in integrity.
Love God. Love your children.
Pray. Never stop praying.
God is in control.
Happy Sunday!
