Are You Tired? ~ Sunday Devotional
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Isaiah 40:29 (NIV)
The Israelites were tired and weary. For many years, I was tired and weary.
I was tired of worrying about my weight and wondering what other people thought of me.
I was tired of pursuing weight loss to no avail. I was tired of being consumed by negative thoughts and insecurities.
I wanted to be free from this battle, but I was too weak to break the chains on my own.
I wasn’t strong enough to turn away from the negative influences of diet culture and social media. I gave into the hype and the false promises.
God was there for the Israelites to provide strength and power in their time of need. He was there for me when I finally gave in and admitted my weariness and my need for His strength.
And He’s here for you too, to provide the strength and power you need.
What made you tired and worn out? In what area of life do you feel powerless?
Strength and power is found in Christ alone.
I tried and failed so many times, but I couldn’t break free on my own. I just kept going in circles, like the Israelites wandering in the wilderness.
Finally I turned to the Lord and admitted my weariness and weakness, and He was there with the strength and power I needed.
God set me free and showed me how to live fit and free!
He has the strength and power you need as well. Turn to Him and admit your need today.
Happy Sunday!
