Time to Start Shopping! My 2017 Holiday Gift Guide

It’s time to start shopping!  Check out my 2017 Holiday Gift Guide for the special people in your life.

Christmas time is the best!  I love the lights and decorations.  And it’s so fun to come up with unique gifts for the ones I love.  Sometimes the best gifts are things you love yourself.  If you have found something that you can’t live without or is one of your favorite things, chances are someone else will find the same to be true for them.

So I’m sharing some of my favorite things and gifts that I think others would enjoy as well.  If you are tired of choosing a gift card for everyone then check out my list and see if anyone comes to mind that just might enjoy it too.

Disclosure:  This post includes a few affiliate links.  This does not change anything for you.  Please be sure I only share things I love!

The following gifts are for the active person in your life.

Think your running buddy, your yoga instructor, maybe your accountability partner or that person in your life that is always working out.

I can’t run without a headband, and I imagine most gals are the same. I have 2 favorites.  For the longest time I only wore Bondi Band headbands.  And then earlier this year I was introduced to BAMR Bands, and now they are a favorite as well.

Both headbands come in a variety of fun styles which means I have more than I care to admit!  But that’s also why they are a great gift.  A girl can’t have too many headbands!

The Bondi Bands are wider, so you can pull them down over your ears when it’s a bit chilly outside.  BAMR Bands work well alone or if you pull your hair up in a ponytail.

Hello and High Five cards.  People still like snail mail.  These cards would be a great gift for the person hosting your run club holiday party or for your yoga instructor.  Perhaps  you could grab some for yourself and send them to your active friends.  Hello and High Five

Give the gift of yoga!  If I would have been putting together this gift guide several years ago, I would not have included yoga.  However, I have learned the benefits of yoga and make it a regular part of my active lifestyle.

If you’re local to Shelbyville, I would suggest getting a gift certificate to Pure Motion yoga.  Scarlett is an excellent instructor for all fitness levels and has morning and evening and weekend classes.

Practicing yoga helps me with my running.  I highly recommend Yoga for Runners by Dr. Beth Brombosz.  You can grab the book or get a more comprehensive plan that includes videos.  These are part of my regular routine.

How about giving the runner or walker in your life an event entry?  Soon Santa Hustle is coming to Indy, but there are other locations and even a virtual race option.  You get all the fun swag no matter where you participate.  This is a 5K and half marathon.  Use MAPSLEY17 to get a $5 discount.  (This would also be a great gift to yourself….just sayin’!)

Everybody likes to eat, right?

Think of the foodie in your life and consider one of the following ideas.

Coffee.  Who doesn’t love coffee???  For the best coffee products, just visit The Cappuccino Traveler.  She has reviews, links, and discounts for all kinds of coffee.  When you’re putting your coffee gift together, instead of another mug (now I would never say you can have too many mugs, but some might disagree), consider adding cream to the gift basket.  My favorite is Nutpods creamer.  This is nondairy and no sugar.  It’s a yummy thick creamer to add to every cup of coffee to make it just right.

I will note that I’m not the best cook, but adding seasoning can take a dish a long way.  So whether your friend is a chef or an average cook (I won’t tell her you said that!), Tiny Little Chef seasonings would make a great gift.  There are a variety to choose from and even multi-packs.  Throw in a dishtowel or an oven mitt, and you’re good to go.  Christmas in July 2017 TLC Seasonings

Cookbooks make great gifts.  I don’t think anyone can have too many!  I put an entire post together not long ago, so check that out and choose from the many that I found as well as those suggested by some of my readers.

Below are ideas that would fit about anyone.

Do you have that person that you want to get something unique for?  Consider something here.

Who doesn’t like to get a gift for someone that also supports a great cause.  I have two companies that I buy from regularly because of that.  One is Trades of Hope.  This helps women around the world get out of poverty.  They have unique gifts ranging from jewelry to scarves to home decor.  And Pura Vida Bracelets is another company I love.  It’s a company near and dear to my heart because it was founded in Costa Rica.  I went on a mission trip there when I was in high school.  This company also supports artisans around the world and brings awareness to many great causes.  Use code MARSHAAPSLEY20 for 20% off your order.  Pura Vida is known best for their bracelets but they have other items as well.

Who doesn’t love a good hand or body soap or lotion?  Bass Farms has an entire line of goats milk products ranging from soaps and lotions to hair products and makeup.

I was first going to put this in the “gifts for the active person” category, but these tanks and tops are for anyone.  Best known for their flowy and flattering tanks, Cross Training Couture makes tops that have God’s truth written on the front.

Fabletics is stylish activewear that is affordable.  Again, this doesn’t need to be specifically for the fitness pro in your life. These clothes are flattering a comfortable and great for running errands or running a half marathon.

40 Days of Faith and Fitness is my recently released devotional.  This is for that woman who needs to see herself as God sees her.  Too many women struggle with body image and avoid the reflection in the mirror.  I wrote this devotion to help women become more aware of God’s love for her just the way she is.  Every woman in your life should have a copy and know that she is “fearfully and wonderfully made” (see Psalm 139).
